Pastor’s Reflections & Report
November 15, 2025
“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19). I really don’t know what the Lord is doing, but I believe He is doing something, and I’m super curious about what it is!
I realize there may be some seasons of seeming sameness in our service and ministry here at CHMC, but 2025 has not felt like one of those seasons. The ways in which we have lived out 2025 has felt significant to me. Not only was this our inaugural year of Men’s Fellowship, Ladyship, and Vacation Bible School, but we also watched, waited, and worked as we saw God do amazing things with the Food Pantry. As we were questioning whether the Food Panty was a sustainable ministry and whether it could or should continue, we saw God do – what felt like – miracles! Not only did He sustain the Food Pantry against a number of odds, but we are seeing God continue to use the ministry to bless our community and deepen CHMC’s relationship with our friends, neighbors, and co-laborers. The Food Pantry has felt like a “beauty out of ashes” story – as we walked along side the Walcott family through the illness and passing of Pastor Wally (Food Pantry Leader and NTCF Pastor) and now as we honor Pastor Wally’s memory by continuing this work that had become such a significant part of his Kingdom work.
I have been tremendously encouraged by the open-heartedness and generosity of the CHMC Family. Repeatedly, despite the various demands and challenges of personal lives, I have seen how this Community of Believers has pushed past “self” to care for “other” – to God be the glory, great things He has done! I am filled with gratitude for all the generations, and all the giftings, and all His mighty works. The prayer of my heart is that the Lord will help me to love each person well, to lead in faithful obedience to Him, and to point others to Christ – in all I do (in all we do) . . . and that we, as disciples of Christ, would let our “light so shine before men [people], that they may see [our] good works and glorify [our] Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16).
While writing this report, I reviewed the 2025 calendar – we have done a great many things this year; I am humbled. But what came to my mind – even as I reviewed the calendar and caused my heart to smile – was the sound of Bible pages turning during Sunday morning worship. What continues to be most important to me is that we deepen in our personal relationships with God through knowledge and application of God’s Word to our lives. And I believe that is happening here at CHMC. I believe that while we “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness”, God has been true to His Word – “and all these things shall [continue to] be added to you [us].” (Matthew 6:33). Overwhelmed!
I am believing the Lord for great things in 2026. I believe that as we continue to submit . . . “Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10), the Lord God – Creator of heaven and earth, He who was and is and always will be, the Lord of hosts – will do wondrous things in us and through us. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
